Company History

Vamsler INC., Kamuning Q.C.

The company is a one hundred percent (100%) Filipino owned corporation. VAMSLER is an acronym of its seven founders, and one of them is Mr. Roberto R. Andrada together with six entrepreneurs who are his close associates. The founders were either physicians, lawyers or engineers.

During the early part of its operation, the company was simultaneously engaged in buying& selling medicines acquired from other pharmaceutical firms and securing licenses& preparing formulations for various product registration to BFAD. The company temporarily distributed products acquired from other legitimate sources to subsidize their operation.

In 1985, Vamsler Phils.,Inc., called on Pharmatechnica Lab.,Inc.a manufacturing firm located at #5 Morquecillo St.,San Francisco Del Monte,Quezon City to be its contract manufacturer. Pharmatechnica is a family owned corporation managed by Mr. Salvador Zerrudo as their President. Just in time that Vamsler Phils.Inc. was given the license to operate as a Drug Trader by the Bureau of Food and Drug.

As a Drug Trader, Vamsler owned the formulations being manufactured for them by the contract manufacturer. Vamsler supplies the raw materials and packaging materials to the manufacturer that are all subjected for quality control approval prior to actual use. In other words, Pharmatechnica Lab., Inc. is being paid for their services only.

The company pharmacist coordinates with the technical people of the manufacturer, concerning the product research& development, registration and securing all the documents required by BFAD.

By 1986, several products were granted CPR (Certificate of Product Registration) to Vamsler by the BFAD and the company was able to make their own products available to the public. The company started recruiting medical representatives for Metro Manila and accredited various distributors for the different provinces in the country. The products seem to be acceptable to most customers both to the private and government sector. With the interest of serving the pharmaceutical requirements of government agencies, the company applied for accreditation as supplier of drugs and medicines in the Department of Health. The accreditation was granted to Vamsler, enabling them to join various biddings conducted by some government offices.

An accreditation as supplier for Mercury Drug Corporation was granted in 1987. Initial stockings for all Mercury Drug branches were implemented for the accredited branded products. Generally, generic products are offered to government entities and branded products to the commercial market.

As part of its expansion program, the company moved to Room 314 and 316 of the Mariwasa Bldg., Aurora Blvd., Quezon City. Additional personnel were hired to fill up accounting, warehousing, and marketing requirements.

Clovimax Family

In the year 1991, the company needed to expand and required additional funding. Several investors were invited to join the company.

A new group, represented by Mrs. Virginia P. De Guzman took interest to join and subsequently manage the financial aspect of the operation. The aggressive financial posture of the new group, and the marketing expertise of the officers brought about a tremendous increase in sales. This time, Mr. Alejandro Navato was elected as the new President of the company and Mrs. Virginia P. De Guzman as the General Manager.

The company operation and sales distribution was nationwide, and the need for an additional manufacturer was necessary.

So by 1992, the decision to negotiate for an additional manufacturer materialized. At the same time, people in the Marketing group clamor for new products to be marketed. Vamsler’s management team decided to enter into a manufacturing agreement with Lloyd Laboratories, Inc., with Lloyd’s good vision of providing quality drugs. In a span of a year or two, Lloyd Laboratories, Inc. registered about fifty (50) products both in generic and branded forms with BFAD. The company’s product line contributed a lot for its growth.

There was a demand for a bigger space to move on, so by December 1994 Vamsler Phils.Inc. transferred to No. 5 Rosal St., New Manila Quezon City. This time, more personnel were hired for the marketing department. This department promoted people from the ranks to District Managers, who were provided with cars in recognition of their satisfactory performances. District teams were created and training seminars were provided for newly hired personnel.

A satellite office in Davao was likewise created, personnel were hired and presently has three(3) District Managers, thirteen(13) Medical Sales Representatives, four(4) free-clinicians, two(2) warehouse and deliverymen, three(3) accounting personnel, and one(1) Regional Sales Manager.

Evaluation showed good sales contribution for the Davao District, so Cebu satellite office was likewise created and has presently one (1) district manager, six (6) medical representatives, two (2) free-clinicians and two office personnel.

Vamsler Philippines, Inc. contributed its share in the promotion of good health by providing quality medicines at very affordable prices.

The company believes that healthy people builds a healthy society and a good nation. “Better Health For Better Tomorrow” – motto was then formulated.

At present, Vamsler Phils., Inc. have a total of one hundred four(104) employees nationwide. The company is also an active member and officer of Association of Drug Industries of the Philippines (ADIP).

VAMSLER PHILS., INC. has grown five times its volume for the last five years. It has hundreds of clients from different classifications spread nationwide. Notably, its quality medicines are accredited in Mercury Drug Corporation and widely used and prescribed by the vast majority of medical practitioners. Vamsler’s mission is to provide satisfaction to clients in terms of service, product quality and affordability in an unprecedented degree of professionalism.
